I wouldn’t hold my breath for it, though. Maybe Gunn, who has worked with Marvel and DC, could bridge the gap and make it happen. If it ever did happen, it would probably end up being a standalone animated film. ![]() So, in my opinion, I never see it happening. James Gunn has even talked with Marvel and DC about making a movie that could cross over his two franchises, though he’s also said the chances of ever seeing the Guardians of the Galaxy meet the Suicide Squad were slim. They aren’t in a place to even think about crossing over with Marvel. In theory, a crossover between the two comic book universes makes sense, and it’s happened on the page before. Then you have DC Entertainment, which is still in the process of figuring out what they are going to all of their properties. The addition of DC would throw it all off. Trying to work a DC crossover into their already packed and complicated plans wouldn’t make any sense at all. On top of their films, they are also now developing several TV shows that are going to be tying into those films. Marvel plans out the future of their films way in advance and as of right now we know that they have at least the next five years planned out. Marvel Studios and DC Entertainment are on completely different paths. The two properties have crossed over in the comics before, but as much as I like Gunn and his work, I don’t see how or why it would ever happen.
